A group of Information Technology students from Ateneo de Davao University bagged the top spot in the recently concluded Startup Weekend Davao, a 54-hour pitching competition sponsored by Kickstart Ventures, Inc. and Globe Telecom where developers, designers, marketers, and product managers come together to share ideas, form teams, and build products using mobile and web platforms.
Kadayawan is derived from the word dayaw, which means good, beautiful, valuable and superior. It is celebrated every 3rd week of the August.
This year’s Kadayawan, set to be celebrated from August 8 to 18, will also coincide with the Indigenous Peoples’ Day. Still, Duaw Dabaw Festivals Foundation is the city’s partner for the festival from the private sector.
Last Saturday 16th of March, the top five (5) players who will represent Davao will be sent to Manila this April for the National leg of the Alaxan FR’s Galing Mo Camp program. Also, two (2) reserve players were chosen along with them in case any of the five may not be able to continue or finish their basketball camp training in Manila.
